Re: Performance insurance

Well in the states it "was" unnecessary to have liability coverage for a
band. It just never came up. The onus AFA liability went was on the venue.
Its only in the last 15 or so years that this liability coverage thing has
come up with any frequency.
I have liability coverage for my business which covers my band work when
needed and costs way more than 500 bucks BTW . So that's cool, but although
I do feel comfortable knowing I have that coverage it still seems a bit
strange that it would be seen as a necessity.
A server who incurred hearing damage would be covered by her employers
policy, under disability ? Who knows ? Its really just another repressive
measure. Not intentionally I suppose, it just makes the insurers more money.
I don't know anyone who has ever been sued, for anything other than bait and
switch or other contractual non compliance. Liability doesn't cover that. AW
