Haneros Halolu -- "These Lights"
=====================
[After kindling the Chanukah lights, the following words are sung:]
Haneros halolu anakhnu madlikim al hanisim v'al haniflo'os v'al
hat'shuos v'al hamilkhomos sheosiso la'avoseynu bayomim
hoheym bazman hazeh al y'dey kohanekho hakdoshim.
These lights we kindle for the miracles and for the wonders
and for the saving deeds and for the wars which You fought
for our ancestors in those days at this season by the hands
of Your holy priests.
V'khol shmonas y'mey khanuke haneros halolu kodesh heym
v'eyn lonu r'shus l'hishtamesh bohem elo lirshus bilvod k'dey
l'hodos ul'halel l'shimkho hagodol al nisekho v'al niflosekho
v'al yishuosekho.
Through all the eight days of Chanukah these lights are
holy, we may not make any use of them, we may only
look at them in order to give thanks to Your great name
for Your miracles and Your wonders and Your saving deeds.
