and please don't take this statement out of context, either. of course
traditions matter, but when coordinating music, the only thing that
matters is what the bride and groom are planning. whether they are linked
to traditions is only relevant if there is specific composition or melody
that follow certain prayers/passages.
if the bride wants the emperial march from star wars played, the band
should comply, even though there's no basis for star wars references in
jewish wedding... to say "but jews don't do that" is irrelevant if that's
the wishes of the people paying you.
