Kol Isha
Is listening to a woman's voice inherently forbidden? Are women permitted to
sing in front of men? What are the parameters of kol isha? Did it always
exist as an issur (prohibition) or is it merely a modern development? How can
we adapt the lessons we learn from kol isha to other areas of halakha? We will
explore the halakhic as well as cultural development spanning from the Gemara
through modern responsa.
