One of the problems in these situations is that no contract is enforceable
without enforcers. If it becomes necessary to go to court with an attorney,
it's going to cost. It could cost more than the gig was worth because
(surprise!) attorneys usually charge more than musicians, who can usually ill
afford counsel. Contracts are usually signed or otherwise agreed upon by
musicians who act in good faith and expect the same. Alas, that's not always
the case and when it isn't, we often can't afford the steep price of justice.
