i wonder who would be more outraged at using wagner in a jewish prayer
service- wagner or the jews he victimized.
wagner claimed that there was no such thing as jewish music, that jews
only steal from and dilute the true cultures they live among.
i have, however always noticed the similarity between the nusach for
neilah kaddish and a theme from das rheingold.since the mi sinai tune
precedes the opera by a thousand years, i never have any problem, but
know old ricky w probably would and i wish i could tell him. jonathan
