the other thing about world of our fathers is that it doesnt quite
sound like klezmer, but has a bluegrass sound throughout. the loose
arrangements, the lack of rhythmic drive, make it quite distictive. isnt
klezmer east european jewish bluegrass, both being primarily dance
music based on fixed melodies.
to give klezmer full life, dont you have to have yiddish? isnt it like
bluegrass without any vocals? or without any soul.
