OK, well, I'm Alana Suskin, and I'ma klezaholic.
(*Hi, Alana!*)
Uh, anyway,
I got interested in Jewish music several years ago before my wedding, when
my bashert and I were looking for music to play at the reception. Since
then I've become very involved with klezmer, Sephardic, and Mizrachi, and I
especially love good fusion (My favorite album of the year is the Charming
Hostess' "Eat", and the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars' "Manichalfwitz" was
my favorite last year).
I currently have a radio show on WMUC, in the Washington, DC area, on
which I play all of that stuff, plus an occasional pop-tune with Jewish
content (like Jill Sobule's song about the HOlocaust or Peter Himmelman -
but that's pretty infrequent)
I also have a web page at http://www.geocities.com/9347 -one of which's
sub-pages is devoted to the radio show, and Jewish music. Oh, yeah, and if
you have net access, you can hear the show at 12-1:30 EST on
www.wmuc.umd.edu
Did I leave anything out?
