I have followed the Kol Isha debate with interest and while some of the
questions put to the traditional position that prohibit Kol Isha have been
tounge-in-cheek, I, for one, did not see them as "Orthodox bashing". The
opponents of the ban on KI have made some good points which have illuminated my
thinking on the issue. I also disagree with the characterization of the debate
as one of "personal choices". Halacha as presented in the Shulchan Aruch isn't
about personal choices and neither is the principle of equality between the
sexes.
Respectfully,

I happen to agree that this topic needs to wind down of its own accord. While I
take some of the blame for my long post, which was not meant to go to the list,
I also agree that everyone has a delete button which they should feel free to
use.
My only feelings on this subject never had anything to do with the substance of
the issue, which to my mnd are really about personal choices, but about the
tone of Orthodox bashing which I and many others have observed.
I have no interest in prolonging the debate, but I also insist on calling other
Jews on what I feel are unwarranted attacks on either legitimate expressions of
Jewish tradition or other Jews.
