Re: List of Top 100 Jewish Music Stores and resources

Greetings y'all- been on this list for about a week. Already time to
unlurk. In Chicago:

>Bariff Shop For Judaica ------ Chicago ------ IL

Can't comment on this one- don't know where it is.

>Hamakor Judaica ------ Niles ------ IL

Hamakor is actually in Skokie, not Niles. Decent selection, but high prices.

>Rosenblums ------ Chicago ------ IL

Fair selection. Won't find a lot of oddball (i. e. older, hard to find)
stuff here. Prices not out of the question.

>The Juke Box ------ Chicago ------ IL

The above two are a gift shop and a bookstore that also carry some music.
Jukebox is a music store that also carries some books (like 'The Compleat
Klezmer'). Probably the best selection in the city. Has some good oddball
stuff but maybe not enough. Being the only store in the area exclusively
devoted to Jewish music, I'd have to say it's the best. Prices about the
same as Rosenblum's, maybe a touch higher, but they have a lot of stuff
that you can't find anywhere else around here.

Jewish music can also be found at the Border's in Evanston and the Tower on
Clark.
