Re: Dancing



I think the difficulty with Israeli dancing is that there are too many
dances for the average person to keep up with.  Somewhere a few years ago I
read that there were 5000 Israeli dances in existence.  With so many new
ones popping up constantly, it's a type of dancing that only dance
enthusiasts can keep up with (even then most people only know a fraction of
the Israeli dances in existence).  Whenever a popular tune emerges in
Israel, someone creates a dance to go with  it.  Some of these dances are
gone from group repertoires within weeks.
