Re: Concert Announcement

April 10, 2000 --- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Old Broadway Synagogue, located 1/2 block east of Broadway between
125th and 126th St., is pleased to announce the second concert of its
Upper Upper West Side Jewish Music Series. Historic Old Broadway
Synagogue?the last affiliated Jewish congregation in Harlem?presents this
concert series with the goal of revitalizing the shul and its congregation.

On Monday, April 24th at 7:00 PM, a special Passover concert called WOMAN
TO WOMAN will feature Ladino and Hebrew songs interpreted by the lovely
voice of Ofri Eliaz. Ofri performs Israeli music here in New York with The
Yovalim and Hayovel bands as well as Ladino music with the Sahar Ensemble.
She studied traditional Sephardi music at the Merkaz la-muzikah
me-ha-Mizrach?a conservatory in Jerusalem. She also studied Jazz vocal
techniques at Israel?s Rimon School of Music and at the New School.
Accompanying Ofri will be pianist/composer/arranger Orly Nachman-Netanel.
This concert will include other fun events and will be for women only.
Admission is only $10.00.

For more information, call The Old Broadway Synagogue, 15 Old Broadway, at
(212) 662-9767.
