Peter Himmelman

Can't say that I agree that everything Himmelman does is Jewish.  But the 2 
pieces cited are 
excellent examples.  Particularly "Untitled", which is a beautiful example of 
how music about a 
Jewish subject is clearly Jewish, even without any "typical Jewish" modes.  
This one made the 13 & 
14 year olds in my "What Is Jewish Music?" course really sit up and pay 
attention.  Sparked an 
interesting discussion, too.
