Perhaps by art songs you mean "through composed" rather than the melody
being repetitive stanza form?
Also, are you familiar with a CD by Susan Leviton. The title is "Zingendik"
by On Tour Productions OTP991.  I don't know if it's still in print.  Maybe
Simon would have some copies.
