Here's the logic:  Cohen means a priest (in Olde Jerusalem); a priest is a 
religious officiant; a rabbi is a religious officiant.
Technically, however, the religious officiant most similar to a priest is a 
Chazn, so Cohen means cantor.  Right?  Amen.
