I don't think this answers the question/solves the "problem." You can dance 
to Klezmer music any old way - be it correct or not, and we all know there 
are numerous "variations" out there. People would say, especially at 
concerts, that they danced to the klezmer music at a concert and what you 
see, unless someone is there to show them the proper style or steps, is lots 
of hopping around Israeli style. I agree with Ari's explanations and also 
have felt comfortable calling it Yiddish Dance very simply because that's 
what it's been called at Klezkamp, mostly separating it from Hasidic Dance 
when the classes are held. Klezical Tradition just had a mini discussion 
about the term a couple of weeks ago and agreed that, although the longer 
answer of "Eastern European Jewish Dance" is more proper, the long answer 
isn't always doable in print or some situations. The term Yiddish Dance at 
least separates the dancing from Israeli or Hasidic.
