Dear All Who May Respond To This Question,

I haven't been following this thread much, but as a suggestion, if you're 
going to recommend some program and/or computer hardware, please also include 
which platform it works on as well. Some of the recommended programs may work 
great, but may not be ported to both PC and Mac (or Acorn, or UNIX, or 
whatever platform you happen to be using). So please make sure to include 
that bit of useful information in your recommendation.
