Re: Music of exile

Joel:
If you want to include Native Americans, you may want to look into the
North Carolina production of "Unto These Hills" at the Oconaluftee Village
which commemorates the expulsion and forced march of the native Cherokee on
the "Trail of Tears", as it is rightfully called. I haven't seen this since
I was a child, but I still remember the play and the powerful musical score
that accompanied the drama. While not written "at the time", it is still a
commemorative drama of forced exile. http://www.imagesbuilder.com/cherokee/

Also: for websites for other native tribes (other than this from my home
state), email me off site. A few years ago, I put together a bibliography
of websites on Native Americans here at the library and I will dig them out
for you if you want.
