Permit and encourage audiences to clap between movements.

Don't program 3 major romantic sonatas and expect audiences
to be interested.

Always talk to the audience.  They want to hear you and know
you.

Tell a nifty (but true) anecdote about each composer or 
piece of music on the program.

Always try to program at least a piece or two that everybody
knows and loves.

Don't laugh when people mispronounce Mozart's name.
