        How about a little more respect for Yiddish (and German)?
Neither of the Yiddish words quoted is FROM German; they are
cognates of German words with common ancestors.  Yiddish _shvartse(r)_
is related to German _schwartz_ 'black' and Yiddish _gelt_ is
related to German _Geld_
