Interesting. It seems that I'm the odd woman out so far. My interest is in
Israeli music. I've heard some of the other stuff, e.g., children's choirs (was
one called Pirchei?) on shows such as the Art Raymond show, and actually have
an aversion to it. My first big exposure to Israeli music was at the Camp Ramah
radio station. After years of working there as a camper, I actually got paid to
run it for a summer. In college (Brandeis), I had an Israeli radio show. Since
then, my only exposure's been on the listening end. Until a few months ago,
there was an excellent Israeli radio program in Los Angeles, but unfortunately
they closed up shop after losing money. Since then, I've been in Israeli music
withdrawal (which is odd considering that I have countless tapes etc.).
