Re: Voice

Josh,
I am a songleader and a speech-language pathologist clinical fellow
(CF-SLP). Hurrah for you for realizing that this is not natural and is
truly a problem. Hurrah to everyone who has suggested seeing an ENT,
seeing a speech-language pathologist, taking voice lessons, drinking
lots of water, getting a mic, etc. Surgery for vocal nodules (if that is
part of your problem) may not always be necessary if you are able to
make appropriate behavioral changes. Let's hope you are tackling the
problem before it's too late. A speech pathologist can certainly help
you determine what is necessary for you to do to keep your voice
healthy.
