Irwin,
I have to point out that your statement on the ties between Israel and
Turkey as a cause of Greece's anti Semitism goes to the heart of how the
anti Semites excuse their actions and beliefs by blaming Israel. We aren't
anti Semites, they claim, we are merely against the policies of the
tyrannical Israeli state.
These are all excuses. Anti Semitism in Greece predates Israel and if they
have their way, and Israel is destroyed, there will still be anti Semitism.
To say what you did, excuses the anti Semitism, and additionally, blames the
victim, Jews, for its existence. This kind of thinking goes back many
centuries, and we as Jews should not buy into it, support it or repeat it.
