Lubet and Brin=Ingber event

If you're anywhere near the Twin Cities, you may want to check out my
next gig 12/3, 730 pm, at Beth Jacob Synagogue in Mendota Heights, a
performance with my long-time collaborator, dancer/choreographer Judith
Brin-Ingber. I'll be doing my Ani Maamin and Maoz Tzur for guitar and
Shabbat Ha-Malkah for bass. Together, J and I will perform Hannelore
and our newest collaboration, Footnotes. Judith will perform Bari
Simone and Sarah, the latter featuring vocalist Amy (Yes, she's Jewish!)
Olson.

Most of the program is a tribute to Jewish women, a project-in-progress
that will eventually include exclusively original repertoire devoted to
our moms, sisters, partners, and female friends. Proud to say that the
dude of the duo came up with the idea (while watching a Seinfeld rerun
and getting tired of the way Jews are depicted in American pop culture
exclusively as something less than we are, a position I think hurts
women even more than men).

Git shabes,
