We had a similar experience in Edmonton.  They asked me to teach some 
Yiddish dances for the beginners in the group, and booked a tiny hall that 
could only hold 20 people.  By the last week, they moved the whole workshop 
to a larger venue and we had 50 people.  The vast majority were from the 
dance community( Circle dancers and International folk dancers).
