Re: large instrument transportation



Rachael,

My violin teacher once advised me to loosen the strings before packing an 
instrument for the plane.  Changes in altitude could cause the strings to 
tighten and possibly snap.  You won't be in tune when you get there, but it's 
better than replacing the strings or bridge.
