In Stanley Dance's book, World Of Count Basie, one of the musicians 
interviewed said that Basie only liked Benny's playing. This was as opposed 
to the Clarinet of Rudy Rutherford, who was playing in his band at that time. 
Basie may not have liked Lester's Clarinet playing, but it was good enough to 
make it onto the original recording of Jumping at the Woodside.
