Although, too, as a lot of people have noted, getting the sounds into the 
computer from recording via microphone is far less desirable than a direct 
connection to a good-quality sound card.

Still, sometimes you're recording voice, or that's what you have to work with. 
That's where having the time to listen, edit if necessary, and retake, as 
Jonathan also mentioned, really matters.
