The book "Familiar Strangers, Gypsy Life in America" by Marlene Sway has a 
fairly extensive bibliography, although it is limited by the fact that the 
book came out in 1988 and is weighted towards works about gypsies in 
Western Europe and the US.   Although the bibliography contains references 
to research dealing with the gypsies of Scandinavian countries and 
Czechoslovakia, as well as the US and te British Isles, the only reference 
to gypsies in Ukraine (or even Russia) is: 1933, Sergievskij, M.V., Book 
Review of Gypsies of the Ukraine, Journal of Gypsy Lore Society (ser.3) 
12:52-54.  Good luck!
