I think the text should be "af der erd" = on the earth.  There was nothing 
there about exile.
Bob will check with the record.  I think I have the record too and I remember 
this song being very very powerful.   Can't play it on now because I think 
there is something wrong with my needle.

How does the Hebrew prayer go?

I learned this song from a CD my sister lent me that her husband
bought in Antwerp. It's called Les Inoubliables Chants du Ghetto sung 
by Sarah Gorby. She lent it to me and said 'Whatever you do, drop
everything you're doing and listen to this song, learn it, and sing
it to me.' So I did.
