Re: Getting to Know You

Allright, my turn,

My name is Neil Weinstein and I live in Bellevue (suburb of Seattle),
Washington. I have always been a musician, studying piano, voice, and
conducting, in my earlier years. I combined music with accounting to form
one of the stranger majors at Claremont McKenna College in southern CA. I am
currently a CPA in Seattle.

About four years ago, out of necessity for my congregation, I picked up the
guitar that I had not played since about 1982 and started plugging my way
through the NFTY chordster. I now teach religion school music at Temple de
Hirsch SInai in Seattle and Bellevue, Washington, I am the music director at
the Rabbi Raphael Levine Camp for Living Judaism, I have been on and off the
regional songleader for WESTY (aka NFTY NW), and am the youth advisor for
TDSY. I also work with the junior choir at our Temple (and hope to form my
own youth choir) and sing secularly with the Seattle Choral Company. Along
with two friends, I am writing contemporary Jewish music and have just cut a
three song demo.

I attended my first Hava Nashira this last June after stumbling onto Adrian's
web page (a true measure of the electronic era as I had never heard of Olin
Sang Ruby before that) and I am currently spreading the new music across the
Pacific Northwest--we don't get much new stuff here!

L'hitraot!

Neil
