Re: Getting to Know You

Shalom!  My name is Janet Pape. I am a professional singer (Jewish, Early, 
Contemporary) in Paris, France, having moved here with my composer husband 7 
years ago from Michigan, where I was cantorial soloist in Flint and Ann Arbor 
for 16 years. 

Now I sing with our anglophone congregation here.  We use a combination of 
Hebrew, French, and English, as our congregation is mixed culturally. There are 
many beautiful French or north African Sephardic melodies.  

I sing with a professional vocal ensemble called Schirei Kodesch, which 
performs 19th and 20th century Ashkenazic repetoire.  This music sounds really 
great when you pronounce the Ashkenazic Hebrew as the composer would have heard 
                 
it.

I am looking for a position singing in the States or elsewhere for the High 
Holy Days.  I know both folk and traditional repertoire.  If anyone knows of an 
opening or has a sudden need, please keep me in mind.
