[HANASHIR:14679] Re: guitar advice (I say steel string)



I agree. Learning the basics means going to a proper teacher and learning 
proper technique, theory, appreciation etc. I've taught students who went 
to amateur self-taught teachers who have had to re-learn everything from 
scratch. Personally I prefer a steel string guitar to a classical for 
reasons of sound (unless you plan to study classical guitar playing) and 
that the neck, being thinner, is more comfortable. It's easy enough to get 
used to the stronger steel strings. It takes about the first week. Perhaps 
the best thing to be looking for is the "right" teacher!
