Just as an ex husband of a professional guitarist and folk singer, I
remember her always saying, one should learn on a nylon string classical
guitar.. even if one want sto be a loud rapping guitarist. Learn the basics
first. Forget what the instrument looks like-- It's what can it do for you.
Your son will hate my thinking.
