Ron - do youself a favor and come to Workmans' Circle next Tuesday night at
7 PM. It's Jeff Warschauers free open house for his klezmer workshops,
and it's a great chance to check it out and see if it's for you.
If you like it, for about $30 a week you'll get what my pal Fendler
calls "klezmer bowling night" - a Tuesday evening with like minded souls
under Jeff instruction. He teaches a lot of good repertoire and he
constantly corrects style - he'll get that tuba a bris.
As a tsimbl player, I can't beleive I'm encouraging a brass player
to join us (we've got a strong trumpet) but it's the right thing to do.
Come try it for free next week and see what you think.
45 East 33rd on the 6th floor - bring your horn. Feel free to email
me - ro (at) panix(dot)com - if you'd like to talk some more, we can get
on the phone.
