Maybe it's not singing, but I can say of all the things I can't do, trilling
is one of the ones that I most regret. The other one is the shoulder
shimmy. Without the trill, so many Balkan and Middle Eastern dances lack a
certain je ne sais quoi. I practise, I try, but when I'm leading dances,
the best I can do is a dry sounding croak or maybe a little yelp, or the
occasional Euie-euie-euyie (I'm a Bulgarian wannabe). So, how do they do
it?
