Re: Kol Nidrei: Yiddish Songs (or Klezmer)

Bob,

I looked through all the Yom Kippur items I have. The only one that
mentions Kol Nidrei by name is "Erev yom-kiper" by Gebirtig. I don't
have music for it, but found it in a book called "The Song of Love and
Sorrow", 1962. If anyone has the music for it, I'd love to have it.
 Other than that, I have two that are also without music, by Leah
Kapelovitsh ("Yom kiper"), and the other by Morris Rosenfeld, "Yom kiper
tsu minkhe", about the time right before Kol Nidrei. As to songs, I
also have "Dem zeydns brokhe" and "Erev yom kiper", a children's song
about forgiving friends, the Rebi Berditshever "Al kheyt", and "Al
tashlikheynu (A Father's Prayer)" by Broidy and Friedsel, words by
Solomon Small (Shmulevitz). If any of these would be helpful to you,
let me know.

Lorele
