My wife and I disagree over how to sing Shmuel Brazil's "Shalom Aleichem" as
a wordless nigun. She opts for Sam's version. I much prefer to sing it as
a "ya-da-dai-dai-dai-ya-da-dai-dai-dai-dai" nigun. What do others think --
of this tune or in general? Is there a standard practice for singing
nigunim among different Hassidic groups? For nigunim of different moods or
tempos?
Bob
