Re: Low life

The classic one is of course "Avreml der Marvikher " by Gebirtig - about a
young pickpocket.

And for those fortunate enough to read Yiddish you can get a lot of
background from the tales of Avram Karpinovitch - "Geven Amol Vilna" - Once
there Was a Vilna - a collection of short stories which includes the
magnifice "Strike of the Vilna Street Girls.

Subject: Low life

Hello everybody!

I am looking for Yiddish songs about prostitution and street life in
general. Any lead?

Thanks,

Sylvie
