Hi all,
I'm translating a Yehoash poem, "The Tree's New Year" and have come
across a phrase that I need help with.
Mit a shney badekt der vald iz,
Vayse rosheshone-kleyder.
Un der himl hot tsum yontef
Oysgelaytert zikh fun volkn.
Un di zun fun loyter simkhe
Putst di vays bashneyte tsvaygn,
Tut zey on takhshitin--shtraln
Un bashpritst zey mit diamantn.
I give you the preceding stanza for clarity, so in the second stanza I
reprint here, what does the third line mean?
A dank in foroys,
Lorele
