Re: Transferring 78s to CD

FIRST you need to download a program that will record and make mp3 files of 
the recording.  Go to mp3.com and download mac version of music match.  it 
is one of the best at this.  i use it to record for my nusach internet radio 
show.

SECOND you need a good set of noise limiting cables with the correct plugs 
for your set up. (gold tipped)  You plug in from the earphone or out jack 
outlet of the phono, and into your sound card.

THIRD  load music match.  i use ibm version, i assume the mac version has 
similar set up.  you set up the the source to be from your sound card.  be 
careful not to be on line, or play any games during recording, cause the mp3 
file will have the sounds from such activity as well as the recording.

FOURTH make your play list from the mp3 files on the hard drive.  and then 
select make cd and the program will burn the cd (assuming you have a cdrw).  
That's it!

do not make your cd from zip drive...it will take forever.  you can move the 
mp3 files to the zip drive afterwards.  I store mp3 files on a data cd that 
I burn rather than a zip disk as it holds more.

4 times a week.
