Re: Are kolomeykas Jewish?

The Winter 1999 YIVO newsletter (no. 189, p. 17 "Lazarus Gift Buys
_Klezmer_ Music") mentions that some klezmer albums had recently been
bought for the music archive; the accompanying image shows a facsimile of
a page of one of these, containing three melodies, two of which are
labelled 'KOLOMEIKE (Ukranian Dance)'.

(The first of these kolomeykas is currently the ring tone for my mobile
phone...but that's another story...)
