Louis Armstrong

Just listening to a radio program about Louis Armstrong, which mentioned
the uneven rhythms that characterize his musical style. I thought to
myself, "Why, this sounds like Yiddish music!" Sure enough, the speaker
went on to tell about his history and mentioned the influence of the
Karnovsky family, with whom he worked at their junk yard. He learned
Russian and Yiddish songs from them. What an interesting tapestry music is!
