Wolf, two points.
First of all, iif you are wearing a hard hat, make sure it is a black one. 
You know damn well I harbor no ill feeling towards you...I just think you are 
wrong......:o)
Second, I do think that that there is definitely a lack of sensitivity in 
parts of the Jewish community to womens issues, and that some individuals, 
and probably far too many, behave in a hostile manner towardswomen. But I do 
not think the evidence exists to show that adherence to these Halachot 
creates this behavior. Its just a sociological leap you've made, and I do not 
think it is justified by any kind of substantive research or factual basis.
