<+> LISTEN UP! AT "SLICE OF LIFE" RESTAURANT NEXT WEEK!!!
^^^^^^^^^
We are *VERY* excited about this performance! This is the FIRST
performance in our attempt to create Chicago's first (and only) live-music
venue at a KOSHER restaurant. Next Thursday is our "first trial" at
showing that LISTEN UP! can make this idea work (See "Background" below!):
WHERE: SLICE OF LIFE restaurant
4120 W. Dempster in Skokie
WHEN: THURSDAY, AUGUST 26
8:30-11:00 PM
COST: $8 COVER (includes one drink and nosh)
WHAT: A GREAT TIME! Full bar, coffee drinks, and fresh desserts...
and your favorite JEWISH vocal band.
For more info, call SLICE at (847) 674-2021. DOWNLOAD the poster at
http://www.jewishsong.com and help us spread the word!
(BACKGROUND: Steve Singer (Director, LISTEN UP!) has been trying to create
a LIVE-MUSIC venue at a kosher restaurant for over 2 years. Together with
Sheldon Kane (Owner, Slice of Life), he is trying to create a venue which
would feature the best Jewish entertainment at Slice on a regular basis
(2-4 times per month). If all goes well, LISTEN UP! will be the "house
band", performing regularly at the restaurant 1-2 times per month. We hope
to have a *great* showing on Thursday - to show that this idea CAN work.
Wanna know how you can help? It's easy! Be there with bells on Thursday
night!!!)
