The reality is that a high brow Jewish music program will never be a success or
get off the ground. The best case scenario is to create a broad based program
that will cater to masses and educate them that there is more to Jewish music
then the 15 song that they may know. A high profile and highly identified
jewish personality will do quite a bit to attract a wide listening audience.
For the same matter Streisand or Patinkin's albums that have Jewish content
have the potential to seed the market and cultivate it more then a lesser known
perhaps true to form artist. The bottom line is that we want to educate the
public and whatever we can do to attract them the better.
The job of the this group is to educate the educators.
