Mayer,
Do you have any more information on the nature of the program, for
example, contents?
Do you have an email address to write to?
Bob

We have just been contacted about the possibility of NPR creating a
nationally syndicated Jewish Radio program ... stay tuned for details.
The powers that be were concerned that the Jewish genre did not have
sufficient depth to sustain a program. If you all will voice your
opinions so that they can hear it, it might get pushed through.

Ari,
after doing some research the I have found that very few stations
offer Jewish
music on their airwaves. You have lsited the few shows that are on the
air on
your website.
Their are few stations willing to give air time to one-dimensional
(only
Orthodox music, only Klezmer, only CDs with Troy Dexter associated
with them
{there are tons})
But there are so many stations listed as "religios" on the air today
in centres
where Jews live. These stations could be used to promote Jewish
music. Think
of the good PR...Christain radio station hosts Jewish music show.
Who has money to buy blocks of air-time? Bronfman Jr are you
listening?
I think Phil Finks Shalom America if it was broader based would be a
great
vehicle to continue promoting Jewish music available on the radio 24
hours a
day.
I know it would be a hard pitch to get air-time and then get jews to
tune into
WJSUS but..
I don't see PBS doing a weekly syndicated Jewish music show. Please
correct me
if they are doing one somewhere.
