Y,know Ari? People have said that (quite cold--non-emotional), but it's not
really true- check out any of the Gateway Trio albums (Abercrombie/
Holland/ DeJohnette) or Gary Burton's 'Passengers' or The Art Ensemble of
Chicago's 'Nice Guys' or, or, or. I guess the 'coldness' could be said to
describe some of the releases by some of their European Artists, such as
Terje Rypdal (and I haven't heard anything he's done in years- so I'm
certainly describing his earlier recordings here), but I don't think any
sort of generalization in this area holds true.
