Re: ECM



Hi all,

ECM is Editions Contemporary Music. See also the fantastic recordings by
Ralph Towner, Oregon, Egberto Gismonte, etc...for more examples of the
classic ECM sound. Some of this music is what Windham Hill hoped to be,
ambient and lush, but with a very strong compositional sense. Don't get me
wrong, some of the early Windham Hill releases were great, however, things
have gotten a bit more formulaic recently. ECM has never lost it, IMHO.
