RE: [Fwd: Re: [Fwd: Re: [Fwd: Re: Correction]]]

You see what I mean about interesting stuff nobody knows!!! I tell you, all
that fabulous ethnic stuff no body tells you about unless you got an inside
man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you write it up Simon? We would love it. Ari should post on his
website so that everyone would know.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry I don't know the name. I'll try to find out. I remember that they
called my husband about editing the film, but he was too busy. I hope he
remembers the name. It was a PBS documentary on the history of Rock n roll.
The info is also probably on PBS's web site.

My husband is directing 3 docs for PBS this year, the third on Harold Arlen. I
know that he will present the Jewish stuff behind his "quintessential American
music". I can't wait for that one. I have been nudging him for years and
years to make a film about Jews and this thing they have for fiddlin. So what
is his fiddlin movie (#2) going to be about? Marc O'Connor, bluegrass,
gypsies, classical, and God knows what else, but I don't think any Jewish
twist. So fr u s t e r a ting my husband is on this. Can't get him to
change his mind. So, you can understand my super excitement about Arlen whom
I totally adore (even if he wasn't Jewish).

That Stoller & Lieber doc was truly, truly fascinating. I truly think we all
have got to watch. They may have discussed where they met, but I have no idea
since I missed the beginning both times. (I don't watch too much tv)

Dear Reyzl,

Can you tell me when & where you saw the Leiber & Stoller Documenter? As you
know, they met at what is now Hatikvah when Jerry was working here, and I want
to get as much into on them as possible. How many people would believe that
Jerry Leiber was pushing Jewish music before he co-wrote "Hound Dog". By the
way, there was an excellent doc on Chicago Blues which included a nice segment
on the Chess Brothers...also "nice" Jewish Boys.
